Bladenboro Historical Society
Bladenboro Farm Life School, 1917-1991
The Mother County Genealogical Society (MCGS) is for anyone with an interest in Bladenboro area history and genealogy. The society’s name references Bladen County’s beginnings as a precinct in 1734 when it had no western boundaries; therefore, it is the “mother” of fifty-five counties that were later carved from that area.
Meetings usually consist of light refreshments, a presentation of interest, and ample time for attendees to exchange information. MCGS meets in February, April, June, August, October and December on the second Saturday at 12:00 PM. The meetings are held in the Bladenboro Historical Society Building. Annual dues are $10.
